The company was challenged by a manual and complex reporting process that varied based on the pension plan type. The lack of a standardized business process for loading data that would be coherent to different users added to the complexity. A crucial aspect of their requirement was an application that could support both Member-Directed and Trustee-Directed pension plans.

Solution

Sprinterra collaborated with the client to create a single web application that handled the full process from data uploads to report production. The application included features for tracking imported files in detail, creating new templates based on these files, and customizing reports to fit specific user preferences. The software introduced a Master report functionality, allowing users to generate customized reports, and had features to add external PDF documents to reports. Role-based user access management provided varying levels of control over the application and ensured robust security. Data import features were enhanced to support several types of data, with imported spreadsheets stored in the database as binary files. A dynamic preview feature was also added, allowing users to view any data set without building a report.
