A leading Austrian FinTech company offers a cloud-based application for small and midsize businesses to simplify financial management—covering liquidity, cash flow, and invoice tracking. This application integrates with hundreds of European banks and financial institutions, providing comprehensive financial solutions.
The company faced the challenge of supplying its board of directors with precise and engaging data analytics reports. These reports were to be compiled by various departments and multiple levels of users, drawing from diverse data sources and formats. The primary challenge was to enhance the existing reporting tool, which focused on subscription data (revenue, new customer metrics), with more informative data analytics capabilities.
The project started with a Discovery phase; Sprinterra interviewed client’s key stakeholders and evaluated the existing data management practices. Our team developed a clear data strategy and an implementation plan for a Power BI-based reporting solution. To facilitate effective data governance, Sprinterra implemented integration of data products with OpenMetaData, an all-encompassing data governance platform for data cataloging and business glossary development. Using AWS Data Migration Service (DMS), our engineers retrieved data from the client’s databases in near-real-time. This data was then transferred to a new repository, where it underwent filtering, cleaning, and transformation through an analytics engine. Later, business layer data was moved to Snowflake, a data warehousing solution, enabling the generation of insightful Business Intelligence reports via Power BI. This comprehensive data analytics solution not only streamlined internal processes but also became integral to the client’s product offering, enhancing their portfolio.
